Sample ImageBannon Investors, LTD. Is the developer of 2020 Gateway Tower. Jon Kelly, general partner of Bannon Investors and former owner of KCRA, Channel 3 in Sacramento led the project team. Prior to developing this building, Jon Kelly was the owner/developer/financial partner of the Natomas Corporate Center, a 70-acre office park developed in the South Natomas area of Sacramento from 1986 through 1990. During that time, approximately 700,000 square feet of office space was successfully developed and leased in the park. Today Greg Kelly and Scott Nichols manage the day-to-day operations of Bannon Investors with guidance from Jon Kelly. The combined talent has resulted in great success.

 

Jon Kelly

Sample ImageJon Kelly was born in Berkeley, California and educated at the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and the University of California, Berkeley. Jon and his brother Bob founded the Kelly Broadcasting Company in 1962, which owned and operated NBC affiliate KCRA-lV in Sacramento; Warner Brothers affiliate, KQCA in Sacramento; and Fox affiliate, KCPQ in Seattle. Kelly Broadcasting was sold in 1999. In 1973 Jon founded River City Bank, the largest community bank in Sacramento, which has an asset base of over $1.0 Billion. Mr. Kelly served as the Bank's Chairman of the Board until 2009 and also served as the President and CEO in the early 1990's. He currently serves as a consultant to the Bank after his daughter was appointed Chairman in 2009. Since 1980, Mr. Kelly has also operated a real estate development company in Northern California, which specializes in suburban office buildings and shopping centers. Between the years of 1986 and 1990. the Natomas Corporate Center, a 70-acre office park in South Natomas including 700,000 square feet of office space, was successfully developed and leased. In 2009 construction concluded on 2020 Gateway Tower, a twelve-story class-A office building containing approximately 300,000 square feet of usable area. The building is LEED Gold CS certified. Presently, Mr. Kelly owns an additional 18 acres in the Natomas area with entitlements to develop over 400,000 additional square feet of office space. In 1998 Jon and his wife Sarah bought a farm in Southern California and entered the thoroughbred horse business.

The Kelly family has accumulated approximately 80 horses, including numerous race horses throughout the country and abroad. Mr. Kelly has served as the Director of the California Thoroughbred Horseman's Foundation and as Director of the Thoroughbred Owner's of California. He is currently a Director of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Jon has also served as Director of the Consumer Credit Counselors of Sacramento, Member of the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers of America sponsor, Executive Board Member of Boy Scouts of America, California State University President's Club, University of Santa Clara Advisory Board, Director at The Sacramento Symphony, Founder and the First President of Safe Streets, Inc. 

Jon Kelly also established the Kelly Foundation that funds a variety of charities, many aimed to educate young people. Additionally, he is the CEO of KKN, Inc. a family office which performs asset management and advisory services.

Greg Kelly

President

Sample ImageGreg Kelly, president and general partner of Bannon Investors, Ltd., LLC resides in Sacramento. Kelly is also president of KKN, Inc., a private company specializing in the accounting and management of the Kelly Family holdings in banking, real estate, and finance.

Active in the community in his role as president of the Kelly Foundation, Kelly also contributes to local charities and the arts. Notable charities include the UC Health Systems Cancer Center, Stanford Home for Children, Special Olympics, Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra and the Crocker Art Museum.

Kelly is the former partner and general manager of Kelly Broadcasting where he oversaw the operation of the company's broadcasting interests in KCRA-TV and KQCA-TV, both in Sacramento. Kelly was also partner in Kelly Television, owner of KCPQ-TV in Seattle, Washington. Educated at the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey and the University of Denver, Kelly spent 8 years building his career in various sales roles for broadcasting companies throughout California and the NBC Television Network in New York.

Kelly is a 6th generation Sacramentan and has 2 children. He is an avid photographer, outdoorsman, cyclist, and musician.

Scott Nichols

Secretary/ Treasurer and CFO

Sample ImageScott Nichols graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Davis with a degree in economics and an MBA in accounting and finance from the University of California at Los Angeles. Scott was audit manager with Arthur Young & Company for five years where he gained experience in the manufacturing, construction, high technology and broadcasting industries. Scott joined Kelly Broadcasting in 1984 as business manager where he was responsible for financial and personnel administration for the broadcasting stations as well as other projects involving financial analysis and controls. In 1992 he was named CFO of the broadcast properties. When the broadcast properties were sold in 1999, Scott became Secretary/ Treasurer of KKN,Inc. a family office and asset management company. He currently oversees the real estate development business, banking interests, stock and bond portfolios and other Kelly family investments.

Thomas Aguer of Avison Young is the exclusive marketing agent for 2020 Gateway.

In 1997 the developed portion of the office park was sold to Prentiss Properties, a publicly traded REIT based in Dallas Texas for a price of $81 million. In 1994 the River City Bank Building and the twin MCI Building were awarded the prestigious BOMA "TOBY" award as the best suburban office buildings in North America.
